Experience Beyond the Coaching Room
Hi! I’m Stephanie Potter.
I believe the best guidance comes from more than theory.
Before becoming an executive coach and consultant, I spent more than 20 years working within finance, operations, leadership, and complex organizational environments, including serving as a Vice President of Finance.
I’ve led teams, managed competing priorities, navigated organizational change, worked across departments, implemented and improved systems, addressed operational breakdowns, and made difficult decisions when there wasn’t an obvious answer.
Today, I bring that experience to both sides of my work.
As an Executive Coach, I work with leaders who need the space and perspective to think differently about a challenge, decision, transition, or what comes next.
As an Organizational Effectiveness Consultant, I work with organizations to identify what isn’t working, understand why, and create practical strategies for meaningful and sustainable improvement.
My consulting experience includes financial and operational review, system transitions and optimization, root cause analysis, process improvement, quality assurance, risk and control assessment, process documentation, training, and leadership advisory.
But my work has never been only about processes or numbers.
It has always been about the intersection of people, leadership, systems, decisions, and performance.
Why That Matters
Leadership looks different when you’ve actually been responsible for the outcome.
I understand what it means to make decisions with incomplete information, manage competing priorities, hold people accountable, navigate organizational dynamics, lead through change, and recognize when the problem everyone is trying to solve may not actually be the real problem.
That experience shapes the way I work today.
I ask questions.
I challenge assumptions.
I look for patterns.
I help separate symptoms from root causes.
And I create space for the kind of thinking that becomes difficult when you’re standing in the middle of the problem.
I don't coach leadership from theory. I've lived it.

THE SKIP LEVEL APPROACH
Whether the challenge belongs to an individual leader or an organization, my approach begins with three elements:
Clarity
Understand what's really happening; not simply what appears to be happening
Perspective
Step outside existing assumptions, patterns, and ways of thinking to see the situation differently.
Change
Turn insight into thoughtful, practical action that creates meaningful and sustainable improvement.
